As the Brown family truck rumbled up the DriftsWood Riding Academy drive way with Victoria Brown at the wheel, her daughter, Leanna Brown, looked out the window at the sprawling paddocks and gleaming horses. The Exiss two-horse gooseneck trailer rolled smoothly behind the freshly washed pickup truck.
Victoria gentley braked the vehicle to a stop just in front of the wide stable door so as not to block anyone trying to get in or out.
Thanks, Mom, Leanna said, climbing out of the tuck to unload her black Connemara Pony gelding, Shadow. Her mother followed Leanna back to to the side door of the trailer and eased it open. There were Leanna's jumping saddle, jumping bridle, English trail saddle, snaffle bridle, dressage saddle, dressage bridle, western show saddle, and western bridle, all of which she payed for mostly by herself, stored neatly in her large tack trunks.
Leanna opened the ramp and put it down gently, then unhooked the butt-bar and walked quietly into the right-hand side of the rubber-floored trailer.
Hey there, Shadow boy, Leanna said quietly to her pony. How ya doing? Shadow, not being a very talkative gelding, breathed softly in response. Leanna reached over and gentley pulled the safety-release knot loose from the string tied to the tie ring.
Back, she instructed, pushing gentley against Shadow's chest with the palm of her hand. Shadow backed out of the trailer and down the ramp with ease. He pricked his ears up and whinnied softly but made no move to escape Leanna's soft grip on his lead rope. She clucked to him and they moved alongside the trailer and into the wide stable aisle. Elegant, alert equine heads poked out of large, clean box stalls.
Leanna's mother, of course, had already found the freshly-bedded stall with Reserved for Follow Me scrawled across a sheet of paper on the door, set two of her tack trunks down, and had headed off for the other ones. Leanna smiled and lead Shadow into the stall. She pulled a short piece of string out of her jeans pocket and tied it to the tie ring, then tied her hunter green lead rope to it. She patted Shadow's neck and ran her hand down his shoulder and then down his leg to remove his travel wraps, babbling nonsense all the way. After she had finished removing his leg wraps, she took off his tail wrap and poll guard.
Her mother, Victoria, had just finished bringing in all of her tack trunks and her grooming bucket. She stopped outside of Shadow's stall.
Hey, she said. Is he settling in okay? It was sort of a rhetorical question, she thought, looking at the relaxed little gelding. Leanna looked up from inspecting Shadow's hooves.
Oh hey Mom, she replied, Yeah, I think he's going to be just fine. Thanks for bringing in all my stuff. She piled her wraps neatly in a corner of the stall.
No problem, sweetie, Victoria said. Just call me when you need a ride home. She walked out of the stable and Leanna heard the truck engine start and the sound of it packing up, turning around, and then driving away.
She grabbed her grooming bucket and set to work with her body brush on Shadow's already shining coat.
OOC: Was that too long? Sorry, I was having fun. :]
edit; I noticed that I didn't capitalize the B in the first Brown. Yeah, I'm fussy.

[[ooc: no, that was freakin good. xD]] Reba walked the stables floor, petting the horses who were inside that day. A smile curved onto her lips as she stopped to pet her own, Isabelle. Izzy was a welsh mare, but she was 14.5 hh, so alittle tall to be a pony.
The crunch of gravel made all the horses eager to look around at the doors, waiting for more visitors and of course, treats. One of their most favourite things.
Reba watched as a truck came in and within minutes, a beautiful pony was brought inside the barn, it's owner leading her in. They had quickly set to grooming and Reba thought of this as the perfect time to introduce herself.
"Hello there, I'm Reba. I'm the stable hand, part instructor" she said, leaning into the stall. Her brown hair fell loosely around her shoulders, eyes sparkling.

*OOC: Thanks! I've never done one like that before. I kind of got caught up. *
Leanna looked up from brushing Shadow's shoulder when she heard a girl's voice. She saw a pretty, older girl with long, wavey brown hair looking at her.
Hi, she said, smiling. I'm Leanna, and I'm new here. She stroked her pony kindly on the neck.
This is my boy, Shadow, she said, introcucing him. She saw that Shadow was sticking his nose eagerly toward the other girl.
He won't bite you, Leanna laughed. And you can just shove him away if you don't like it. Of course, Reba already knew enough about horses to push him away if he got in her space, but Leanna thought it would be nice to tell her that she didn't mind. She was particular about her pony, but not so much that she wouldn't let anyone else even touch him. She thought people like that were pretty annoying.
